LMU, Islington sign pact

Dec 9, 2016- Kathmandu-based Islington College and London Metropolitan University (LMU) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding to further collaboration between the two academic institutions.

John Raftery vice-chancellor of the university and Sulav Budhathoki chairman and chief executive of the college agreed on providing 75 percent scholarships to graduates from the college for the post graduate programmes in Information Technology and Management.
Under the agreement, the university and college will start MBA programmes and develop curriculum incorporating the context of Nepal and the UK.
The students can join the programme either in London or Kathmandu and the students from Nepal will travel to England and vice-versa under the student exchange programme. Similarly, students willing to pursue a PhD at the LMU can get admission at Islington College and complete the programme under joint supervision of the college and the university professors.
“The new pact has further strengthened our collaboration with Islington College. We are proud to see the college perform excellently,” said Raftery, speaking at the signing ceremony.
