The Kathmandu University (KU), Nepal, and University of Porto (U. PORTO), Portugal, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on 20 January 2017 in School of Management (KUSoM), KU, Balkumari, Kathmandu, Nepal, in order to strengthen collaboration between the above two universities in terms of capacity development, research, and mobility of students and staffs between them. The signing took place during the visit of Prof. Maria Joao Ramos, Vice-Rector, U. PORTO, to Pharmacy Department of KU under MOBILE+ mobility program where she delivered lectures to M. Pharm student of the same department.
The main areas of agreement are: increasing the scientific and cultural relationship, further the development of mutual collaboration, exchange of information, materials and scientific information, promoting teaching, research, mobility of teaching staff, researchers and students between both universities, curriculum development, preparation of joint research projects, and participation in seminars and academic meetings.
Prof. Maria de Fatima Marinho, the Vice-President of U. PORTO, Portugal, and Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, the Registrar of KU, signed the MoA for and on behalf of U. PORTO and KU, respectively. The agreement was witnessed by Prof. Ramos.
Dr. Rabindra Bista, Asst. Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, coordinated the MoA event in the capacity of coordinator of MOBILE+ Project, an Erasmus plus Program.
